Darren is a co-founder of Mill City Capital. He has led or co-led Mill City Fund investments in Union Tractor, Wholesale Produce Supply, Renaissance Power Systems, JMH International, Bonnetts Energy Corp, Horizon Hobby, Command Fishing and Pipe Recovery and Impact Confections. He current serves as chairman of the board for Union Tractor, Bonnetts Energy, JMH International and Impact Confections. He also serves on the board of Command Fishing and Pipe Recovery.
He began his career at the investment bank, Piper Jaffray, where spent his last six years as the Group Head for Consumer Investment Banking leading a team that built a leading national franchise. In 2003 Darren joined Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison (GHJ&M) where he led or co-led the investments in Houlihan’s Restaurants, Specialty Commodities, Inc. and Vitality Foodservice Inc.
In addition to his professional board responsibilities, Darren currently serves as a trustee for The Blake School and is a trustee emeritus of The Nature Conservancy and Wilderness Inquiry, both non-profit environmental organizations. He also played professional hockey in Europe.
Darren graduated from Yale University and earned an MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
